Dr. Emmanuel Nkurunziza
Dr.Nkurunziza currently serves as the Director General of the Regional Centre for Mapping of Resources for Development (RCMRD) based in Nairobi, Kenya.
RCMRD is an intergovernmental organisation with 20 Member States in Eastern & Southern Africa.
He has previously served as the Director General of Rwanda Natural Resources Authority and Chief Registrar of Land Titles in Rwanda.More information
Ms. Milly Mbuliro
Ms. Mbuliro is a GIS and Remote Sensing Specialist with the Nile Basin Initiative in Entebbe, Uganda. She has a strong background in Water Resources Management, particularly with ESRI products for spatial data management (geodatabases), Spatial data analysis, Geostatistical analysis and Map generation.
Prof. Tonny Oyana
Prof. Tonny Oyana is the Principal, College of Computing and Information Sciences (CoCIS), Makerere University. He holds a PhD in Geography with a concentration in Geographical Information Systems (GIS) from the State University of New York (SUNY) Buffalo.
His research interests are GIS and GIScience; visualization and cartography; spatial epidemiology; applying GIS techniques to the subfields of disease surveillance and monitoring, bioterrorism, and environmental health and exposure; spatial epidemiology; multivariate statistics; spatial statistics.
Prof. Dr. Mathias Schardt is a remote sensing expert and head of the Institute of Digital Image Processing at JOANNEUM RESEARCH mbH based in South-East Austria.
Joanneum Research focuses on developing solutions and technologies for businesses and industries across a wide range of sectors and conducts top-level research at an international level. The company principally focuses on applied research and technology development, and prides itself as an INNOVATION COMPANY playing a key role in transfer of technology and know-how.
